This custom designed campaign Tom Crean lapel pin badge is available to purchase as a pre-order and will be dispatched to your address in mid to late September.

The Tom Crean Lapel pin campaign badge is photo printed onto a metal substrate and sealed with an epoxy resin covering to give a smooth finish. The fitting mechanisms used to attach the pin badge are two butterfly clasps.

The badge is designed in commemoration of Tom Crean’s epic solo walk to save the life of Lieutenant Edward Evans in February 1912. Walking 35 miles from Corner Camp to Hut point on Ross Island Tom Crean reached the hut to help bring about the safe rescue of Evans and William Lashly who had stayed to nurse Lieutenant Evans who lay dying after contracting Scurvy. For his bravery Tom Crean, along with William Lashly, were both awarded the Albert Medal in July 1913. Lieutenant Evan’s while speaking at New York’s Carnegie Hall on St Patricks Day 1914, revealed that his orders for both men to leave him and save themselves, was disobeyed and it was Crean who leant over him to say “If you are to go, then we all go together.”
